KinderMarlee
LANDSBOROUGH
Our Kindergarten Program
KinderMarlee offers an approved program for children in the year before Prep under
the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and the Early Years
Learning Framework.
Our kindy cohort has the benefit of three professionally qualified and experienced early years teachers, Jillian, Jane and Director Sue Eadie, as well as opportunities to interact with the centre's other great educators in various areas.
We believe that having three teachers (rather than only a teacher and an assistant), enriches our daily program and experiences for all children. The combined efforts of multiple perspectives enhances reflective practice and the development of a diverse program.
Our teachers also collaborate in planning across the centre as a whole, meaning that children of all ages at KinderMarlee are able to benefit from our early years teachers. Younger children are also able to participate in the Kindergarten Program, by choosing to join meetings or sit in on group experiences.
This is a valuable cross-learning opportunity - younger children observe older competent children; and older children are able to act as mentors and teachers. This also supports confident and considerate social interactions as children learn to negotiate verbal and non-verbal social cues.
We believe that early years education sets children up as life long learners - kindergarten is not solely about preparation for school. Children's success as primary students depends on the school they enter. However, a high-quality early years experience, developing strong and confident learning dispositions, is the best preparation your child can get - for life.
